The Musket is a placeable ranged Weapon most commonly used in siege warfare and open battles.

Artillery can be placed on any flat 3x3 surface. If it is on uneven terrain or blocked, it cannot be used.

Unlike the Musket, Artillery requires ammunition to work. Its two type of ammunition is the Grapeshot Canister and Roundshot. Both types of ammunition serve different functions.

A direct hit from artillery is usually a guaranteed instant-kill for the target.Blueprints for Artillery can be obtained at the Armory in spawn. It costs 12 iron block to craft Artillery with its blueprint ($32).

Controls

  • Right-Click Artillery: Mount Cannon
  • Shift: Dismount Cannon
  • WASD Keybinds: Aim Cannon Up/Left/Down/Right
  • Right-Click While Holding Ammo: Fire Cannon

Types of Ammunition

Grapeshot Canister

Grapeshot

Grapeshot can fire a deadly burst of small musket balls.

It can be difficult to hit individual targets but is deadly against crowds.

You can use grapeshot in open fields for its most effective use.

Roundshot

Roundshot

Roundshot fires a single large cannonball.

Unlike grapeshot, roundshot can damage both blocks and entities.

When it explodes near a player, it may temporarily blind them.

Trivia

  • Artillery has a demo version at the Spawn's Shooting Range.
  • The roundshot's whiz effect comes from a Cinesound Library. You may recognize the sound in Sergey Bondarchuk's 1970 film Waterloo.
